Veteran Horse Society – AREA QUALIFIER 2024

Membership £15 per person

Members £12 pre entry per person -£14 on the day

Non Members £14 pre entry- £16 on the day

All classes will be spilt where Appropriate and if sufficient numbers

 

MORNING CLASSES: In-Hand to commence at 09.00am

 

Class One: Youngstock – Foals to 3 years

 

Class Two: Novice/Young Handler -Hats must be Worn (Children may be accompanied by an Adult)

 

Class Three: In-Hand Mountain & Moorland-(Small and Large breeds)

 

Class Four: In-Hand Shetland

 

Class Five: In-Hand Veteran – For Horses and Ponies 15 years &over VHS AREA QUALIFIER

5a

DIAMOND VETERAN in Hand  (25 years and over). Open to horses and ponies of any breed and height.
 CLASS 5B VETERAN In Hand  (20–24 years). Open to horses and ponies of any breed and height.   
CLASS 5C PRE-VETERAN In Hand  (15–19 years). Open to horses and ponies of any breed and height.

 

 

Class Six: In-Hand Coloured, Palomino, Spotted, Dun & Roan

 

Class Seven: In-Hand Show Pony/Horse, plaited types any age-

 

Class Eight: In-Hand Cobs – Heavy/Hairy or Hogged

 

Class Nine: In-Hand Hunter Type Pony/Horse-

 

Class Ten: Open In- Hand – Open to all breeds

 

In- Hand Championship– First and second from each class is eligible

 

 

AFTERNOON CLASSES: Ridden- Not before 1.00pm

 

Class Eleven: Lead Rein – 9 years and under and ponies 128cms

 

Class Twelve: First Ridden- 12years and under & ponies 128cms

 

Class Thirteen: Novice Ridden Showing first season in Ridden Showing

 

Class Fourteen: Ridden Mountain &Moorland (Small or Large Breeds)

 

Class Fifthteen: Ridden Veteran – For horses and ponies 15 years & Over.VHS AREA QUALIFIER

CLASS 15C PRE-VETERAN RIDDEN (15–19 years). Open to horses and ponies of any breed and height.

 

Class Sixteen: Ridden Coloured, Ridden Spotted, Palomino, Dun& Roan

 

Class Seventeen: Ridden Show Pony/Horse, plaited types Horses/Hacks, any height

 

Class Eighteen: Ridden Cobs – Heavy/Hairy or Hogged-any height

 

Class Nineteen: Ridden Hunter Type Pony

 

Class Twenty: Riding Club Pony or Horse

 

Class Twenty One: Open Ridden

 

Ridden Championship-First and Second from each class is eligible

SUPREME CHAMPIONSHIP– Champion & Reserve from the In-Hand Championship and Ridden Championship

Open to members and non-members.  All competitors and grooms must adhere to VHS Rules in all circumstances.  Failure to do so may result in immediate disqualification.Those wishing to join or renew the Society will need to apply for this before 1st April each year or a late penalty fee of £15 will be charged.

 

VHS Regional Final qualification. All competitors placed 1stto 4thin each Area Qualifier class will qualify for the corresponding class at VHS Regional Finals.  Members must carry their card in the ring at all times and have their showing card signed by the judgeas proof of qualification.  Non-members will receive a red qualification cardwhich can be exchanged for signed showing card when applying for VHS membership, this MUST be done within 21 days of qualification. It is the competitors’ responsibility to present their Showing card to the judge.


Regional Finals are open to members only
.

 

All competitors are eligible to enter open classes at the National Veteran Championships,
30th August – 1st September 2024.  No qualification or membership necessary.  See VHS website for schedule which is available mid season in 2024.
