Ring One: SHOWING (Classes Start at 09.00am)

Working Hunter Clear Round – £6.00 a round (£1.00 extra for a rosette)

Start – 9-10am

Class 1: Lead Rein/ Tiny Tots Working Hunter pony: Open to ponies 128cms and Under, Riders 10years and under, Jump Height 30cms

 

Class 2: Novice Working Hunter –Open to horses & ponies, jump height 50-55cms

Class 3: Mountain & Moorland Small Breeds Working Hunter: Jump height 60cms max                                                            

Class 4: Working Hunter Pony – Under 133cms, jump height 65cms max

Class 5: Mountain & Moorland Large Breed working Hunter: Jump height 75cms

 

Class 6:  Working Hunter Pony- 133-153cms, Jump height 75cms max

 

Class 7: Working Hunter Horse- 153 & over, Jump Height 85cms

 

Class 8: Riding Club Pony/ Horse- one jump to be included in the individual show

WORKING HUNTER CHAMPIONSHIP-1st & 2nd from each class go forward to this championship

 

Class 9: Complete Beginners Showing- Open to Horses or Ponies – Riders any age including Lead Reins, class may be split (16 years & under and over 16 – as of 1st January 2024) if sufficient entries.  SNAFFLE BRIDLE ONLY

Class 10:Novice /Green Pony /Horse – Open to ponies and horses – Riders any age.

SNAFFLE BRIDLE ONLY IN CLASSES 9 &10 –Correct standard Hat, Boots & Jodhpurs must be worn; Jackets not necessary, but rider’s arms must be covered. NO CANTERING ON COLLECTIVE ‘GO ROUND’ AND NOT NECESSARY IN THE INDIVIDUAL SHOW.

Class 18: Ridden Show/ Show Hunter Pony – Open to Ponies – Riders any age,

Class 19:  Riding hunter horsesopen to Horses. Riders any age,

Class 20: Ridden Open- Open to Horses or Ponies. Riders any age

Ridden Championship- 1st & 2nd from each class go forward to this Championship.

 

In all non restricted age classes the rider must be a suitable height and weight for the Pony or Horse.

 

RING TWO: SHOWING (Classes Start at 10.00am)

Class 21: Native & Non-Native Young stock: Yearlings, Two- & Three-year-olds Open to any breed Colt, Filly or Gelding. Stallions MUST be bitted and must be handled by 16 years and over as of the 1st January 2024)

 

Class 22: In-Hand Shetland / Miniatures -Handlers any age Stallions must be bitted and must be handled by 14years and over, will be split if sufficient entries

Class 23: In-Hand Mountain & Moorland – Small & Large Breeds

Class 24: In-Hand Coloured, Spotted, Palomino, Dun & Roan Open to horses and Ponies, Handlers any age,

Class 25: In Hand Plaited Horse Including ROR -Open to Horses, Handlers any age, Ror to wear a black arm band provided by you

Class 26: In-Hand Plaited Pony- Open to Ponies any age 153 and under.

Class 27:In-Hand Traditional, Native Cob- Open to Horses and Ponies, to be shown in Natural or hogged. Handlers any age

Class 28: In Hand Veteran Horse or Pony, 15 years and over, VHS AREA QUALIFIER

Class 36: Lead Rein/ First Ridden Equitation Open to Ponies 12.2hh and under, Rider 9 years and under, Snaffle Bridle Only & Lead Rein must be attached to the Nose Band. No cantering.

Class 37: First Year First Ridden Open to Ponies 12.2hh and under, Rider 12 years and Snaffle Bridle Only. No CANTERING ON COLLECTIVE ‘GO ROUND’

Area Foundation Qualifier

Open to members and non-members.  All competitors and grooms must adhere to VHS Rules in all circumstances.  Failure to do so may result in immediate disqualification.

 

VHS Regional Final qualification. All competitors placed 1st to 4th in each Area Qualifier class will qualify for the corresponding class at VHS Regional Finals.  Members must carry their card in the ring at all times and have their showing card signed by the judge as proof of qualification.  Non-members will receive a red qualification card which can be exchanged for signed showing card when applying for VHS membership, this MUST be done within 21 days of qualification. It is the competitors’ responsibility to present their Showing card to the judge.

Regional Finals are open to members only.

 

All competitors are eligible to enter open classes at the National Veteran Championships,
to be held at Arena UK Lincolnshire on 30th August 2024 – 1st September 2024.  No qualification or membership necessary.  See VHS website for schedule which is available mid season in 2024.

 

Championship Golden Ticket Qualification

All those who qualify for the Veteran Championship will have the opportunity of winning one of 4 Golden Ticket awards.  The Champion & Reserve In-hand and the Champion & Reserve Ridden will be awarded a Golden Ticket.  The highest placed M&M in each Championship will be awarded a place to the M&M Supreme Final at the judges discretion

 

Non-Members must then enter the Supreme Final that corresponds with the veterans age, and join the Society within 21 days.  Members will need to have their Show Card signed.  Those not wishing to attend may keep their placings but offer the qualification down no lower than 4th place.
