We have an elevated judges’ viewing box in which there is a sound system which can be hired for clinics, lectures and demonstrations which is linked into the cafe area so spectators can hear all the action while they enjoy a drink or a bite to eat.

The Arena Café

The Arena Café has always been an important part of Lodge Farm. It is run by Christina Carr and her fabulous team. The café provides hot & cold drinks and refreshments including cooked breakfasts using locally sourced bacon and sausage plus a fantastic range of homemade cakes – her speciality being Millionaire’s shortbread! I recommend that you try it when visiting us.

Not only does the cafe adjoin the indoor arena but also the Conservatory which can be used for lectures and meetings. This overlooks the car park and outdoor arena which can be appreciated in adverse weather. It is regularly used for Pony Club and for children’s parties (with or without the ponies) and can be booked for your event with or without the provision of catering.

Please ask a member of staff for further details, both the cafe and conservatory do have WiFi connection and disabled access.

Why not book a “Pony Party” for a celebration? Could be for a birthday, Christmas or any other occasion, it doesn’t even have to be a special occasion! They include an hour with the ponies – riding, fun and games followed by the party tea in the conservatory which can be provided by the Arena Cafe or you can bring your own. Each child will receive a rosette plus an additional rosette for the birthday boy/girl. These are really popular with children of all ages and standards of riding.

Lodge Farm Riding School

We welcome both existing and new clients — children and adults of all experience levels. We teach beginners from the ground up, build confidence in nervous riders, and provide challenges for the more experienced. Our range of ponies and horses, from 11.2 to 16.2 hh, ensures you'll be paired with a mount suited to your needs.

All new riders attending the riding school must complete a Rider Registration Form (R.R.F.), which provides your contact details and any previous riding experience. We recommend booking an assessment lesson before joining any group, to ensure your riding level aligns with the group's requirements. Your first lesson must be paid for in advance; thereafter, you can pay as you attend.

We offer riding sessions Monday to Saturday each week. Please note that this schedule may vary during major holiday periods, such as Easter, Christmas, and New Year.

Lessons run from 11:00 a.m. into the early evening.
