Ring One: SHOWING (OUTDOOR ARENA) (Classes Start at 10.00)

 

Class 1: Tiny Tots Lead Rein -Open to Ponies 12.2hh and under, Rider 5 years and under Snaffle Bridle Only & Lead Rein must be attached to the Nose Band. No cantering.

Class 2: Lead Rein Pony Open to Ponies 12.2hh and under, Rider 9 years and under Snaffle Bridle Only & Lead Rein must be attached to the Nose Band. No cantering

Class 3: Best Lead Rein Rider – Open to Ponies 12.2hh and under, Rider  9 years and under, Snaffle Bridle Only & Lead Rein must be attached to the Nose Band. No cantering.

Class 4: Mountain & Moorland Lead Rein Pony Open to Ponies 12.2hh and under, Rider 9 years and under, Snaffle Bridle Only & Lead Rein must be attached to the Nose Band. No cantering.

Class 5: First Year First Ridden Open to Ponies 12.2hh and under, Rider 12 years and Snaffle Bridle Only. No CANTERING ON COLLECTIVE ‘GO ROUND’ 

Class 6: First Ridden – Open to Ponies 12.2hh and under, Rider 12 years and Snaffle Bridle Only. No CANTERING ON COLLECTIVE ‘GO ROUND’

Mini Championship 1st & 2nd Prize winners

Class 7: Complete Beginners Showing- Open to Horses or Ponies – Riders any age including Lead Reins, class may be split (16 years & under and over 16 – as of 1st January 2022) if sufficient entries.  SNAFFLE BRIDLE ONLY

Class 8: Novice Rider, Pony or Horses -Open to Horses/ponies, all new or nervous riders. Riders any age SNAFFLE BRIDLE ONLY

Class 9: Green Horse or Pony- Open to Horses or Ponies 6 years and under – Riders any age, class may be split (16 years & under and over 16 – as of 1st January 2022) if sufficient entries.

IN CLASSES 5-6 Correct standard Hat, Boots & Jodhpurs must be worn; Jackets not necessary, but rider’s arms must be covered. NO CANTERING ON COLLECTIVE ‘GO ROUND’ AND NOT NECESSARY IN THE INDIVIDUAL SHOW.

Class 10: Ridden Veteran Horse or Pony 15 years and over- VHS REGIONAL QUALIFIER-

DIAMOND VETERAN RIDDEN (25 years and over). Open to horses and ponies of any breed and height. Highest placed registered M&M to qualify forward to the M&M supreme final, at the judge’s discretion 
 CLASS 10B VETERAN RIDDEN (20–24 years). Open to horses and ponies of any breed and height.    Highest placed registered M&M to qualify forward to the M&M supreme final, at the judge’s discretion
CLASS 10C PRE-VETERAN RIDDEN (15–19 years). Open to horses and ponies of any breed and height. Highest placed registered M&M to qualify forward to the M&M supreme final, at the judge’s discretion    

 

Class 11: Ridden Coloured, Spotted, Palomino, Dun & Roan- Open to Horses and Ponies. Riders any age, will be split if sufficient entries

 

Class 12: Ridden Traditional, Native, Cob –Open to Horses and Ponies. to Be shown in natural or hogged, Riders any age

Class 13: Ridden Plaited Horses- Open to Horses. Riders any age,

 

Class 14: Ridden Plaited Ponies- Open to Ponies. Riders any age,

 

Class 15: Ridden Mountain & Moorland (Small Breeds)

Riders any age,

Class 16: Ridden Mountain & Moorland (Large Breeds)- Open to Horses or Ponies. Riders any age,

Class 17: Ridden Part-bred- Open to all Part-Bred Horses or Ponies. Riders any age,

 

Class 18: Ridden Open- Open to Horses or Ponies. Riders any age including lead reins

 

Ridden Championship- 1st & 2nd from each class go forward to this championship

In all non restricted age classes the rider must be a suitable height and weight for the Pony or Horse.

 

 

RING TWO: SHOWING (Indoor) (Classes Start at 10.00am)

 

Class 19: Native & Non-Native Young stock: Yearlings, Two- & Three-year-olds Open to any breed Colt, Filly or Gelding. Stallions MUST be bitted and must be handled by 16 years and over as of the 1st January 2022)

Class 20: In-Hand Shetland / Miniatures -Handlers any age Stallions must be bitted and must be handled by 14years and over, will be split if sufficient entries

Class 21: In-Hand Mountain & Moorland – Small Breeds

 

Class 22: In-Hand Mountain & Moorland – Large Breeds

 

Class 23: In Hand Veteran Horse or Pony, 15 years and over –VHS REGIONAL QUALIFIER

Class 29: Young Handler – 11years -16 years – (as of the 1st January 2022)

 

Class 30: Bonny Horse or Pony – Any Breed or type (Children may be assisted by an adult),

 

Class 31: In-Hand Part- Bred- Open to all Part Bred Breeds, Any age.

 

Class 32: Open in Hand – Open to all breeds Horses and Ponies, Handlers any age.

 

IN HAND CHAMPIONSHIP-1st & 2nd from each class go forward to this championship

Working Hunter starts 1.30pm approx with clear round ( Grass)

Working Hunter Clear Round – £6.00 a round (£1.00 extra for a rosette)

 

Class 33: Novice Working Hunter: Open to horses and ponies. Riders any age, but must be a suitable height and weight for their–

 

Class 34: Novice Mountain & Moorland Working Hunter: Riders any age, but must be a suitable height and weight for their pony

Class 36:  Working Hunter Pony 14.3 & over- Riders any age, but must be a suitable height and weight for their pony

 WORKING HUNTER CHAMPIONSHIP-1st & 2nd from each class go forward to this championship

Open to members and non-members.  All competitors and grooms must adhere to VHS Rules in all circumstances.  Failure to do so may result in immediate disqualification.

 

VHS Regional Final qualification. All competitors placed 1st to 4th in each Area Qualifier class will qualify for the corresponding class at VHS Regional Finals.  Members must carry their card in the ring at all times and have their showing card signed by the judge as proof of qualification.  Non-members will receive a red qualification card which can be exchanged for signed showing card when applying for VHS membership. It is the competitors responsibility to present their Showing card to the judge.
